Dodging The Rain for a Woodland Walk

Dodging The Rain for a Woodland Walk

I have to say  – it has been really wet all week. We have literally got soaked for both the morning and afternoon school runs all week, so I can honestly say we have not felt inspired to go out and seek out a little adventure.
Thursday marked world book day, and my two girls insisted on dressing up as tinker bell and a flower fairy. It suited them perfectly!

In the afternoon the rain stopped for a couple of hours, so with babyS wrapped up in the pushchair and lil_E dressed as tinkerbell -we donned the wellies and headed out for a little walk.

Lil_E hunted for snowdrops and crocuses- innocently trying to spot a flower fairy sitting underneath, and me? Well I just enjoyed time with my littlest two. I do miss my biggest girl while she is at school. It really is the ordinary everyday moments that are somehow so special and that we remember. I snapped a few photos while we were out, and I think the first one will definitely end up on my wall in canvas form.

It shouts out everything that I try to teach my children. To run wild, explore, travel, follow your dreams, dare to be different, love life and most importantly – be happy.

I am linking this Woodland walk up with Fiona at Coombe Mill for #CountryKids

Ah now I can put your lovely photo from Instagram into context. I think I said there, the photo says so much about our free spirited girls. Little flower fairies as I remember always had adventures, if I were to rewrite the stories they would have yellow wellies too! That photo is a must for a canvass, thank goodness for a break in the weather and a breath of fresh air in the woods.

Thank you for sharing with me on #CountryKids

Thanks so much Fiona. I genuinely love #CountryKidsFun (although I completely keep forgetting to add the fun to the #Countrykids on instagram!! Your linky really does make me think about what we have done over the week, and I love that the simple things – like a walk out in the park – are the times I remember the most and cherish. The fact that my girls choose to wear wellies, tutus, and fairy outfits add to my smiles. My little boy just sits and takes in all of the madness that surrounds him! Happy days. Thanks for hosting xxx

Aww I love the fairy dress so much, it looks so perfect in the woods! I am glad you were able to get out – I have been very uninspired lately too, but there is nothing like the first signs of spring to get you out and about! #countrykids
