Travelling in a campervan with three children aged 6, 2 and 7 months, means that we are always on the look out for clever and innovative products that help to ensure that travelling with little ones remains fun and easy. As parents, we have always believed that life is an adventure and it really is possible to take your children anywhere.
We came across Koo-di and their clever products a while back, so when they launched their search for the Blogger of the year 2017 I was really keen to work with them. We were amazed when they announced that we were runners up this year, and we are really looking forward to working with a company that help to make life easier when out and about with babies and toddlers.
We have been on the look out for a travel cot that is compact enough to travel with, fits in our campervan easily and that our baby boy won’t grow out of too quickly – and I think we have found it! Last month we were sent a Koo-di Pop-up travel bubble cot to review.

- Weighs less than 2.2kgs
- Measures L100 x W60 x H69cm (assembled)

Last weekend saw our first glamping trip of the year. We had booked to stay in a Mongolian yurt, and we were excited to try out the Koo-di baby Pop-Up Bubble travel Cot.
The cot comes in a compact carry bag and once folded it is small and relatively flat – I would say it would easily fit into a larger bag or suitcase. Having used a number of different style travel cots over the years, the first thing I noticed was how compact and lightweight it was.
We arrived late on the Friday evening, and as the yurts do not have electricity we didn’t have much time to set everything up for the night before we lost the light. The travel cot was so easy to put up, it literally took minutes. I am not one for always reading instructions but the cot was really simple to assemble and the instructions were precise and straightforward.
The cot springs open quickly to form its shape, and struts are inserted to add additional support and shape. The mattress is placed on the base of the travel cot and held securely in place by velcro strips. The mosquito net is tucked into an integrated pocket to the right hand side of the cot.
The mosquito net is an added bonus, It can be zipped to fully enclose your baby and can be a really important additional feature if you are choosing a travel cot to take abroad with you.
I found that there is a knack to packing it away. Once you have practised a couple of times it really is simple. This is essential when travelling with babies and toddlers. You don’t want to have to spend ages either side of your trip assembling and packing everything up to leave.
The cot comes in a variety of colours;
- lemon and lime
- cafe creme
- polka dot
It currently retails at £56.99 (May 2017)
You can purchase an additional Bubble Cot Inflatable Mattress & Fitted Sheet Set if you wish to provide your baby with additional comfort.
It can be really hard to travel light with babies and toddlers in tow. I was amazed at how compact and lightweight this cot is when folded. I found it really simple and quick to put up, and most importantly baby S slept really well in it. As it is lightweight and easy to carry around, the cot can also be used for daytime naps when out and about. What is also great about this travel cot is it can also double up as a safe play area, so you can get more value out of it. We are really pleased that we have finally found a travel cot that when assembled fits easily into our campervan. This is our first summer attempting to squeeze a family of five into a confined space, and we are sure that this cot will be invaluable to us this year. The Koo-di pop-up travel cot is a great choice for travellers whether camping, staying somewhere over night, or heading further afield.
