2016 Review

2016 Review

Wow! What a year for us.. we started off 2016 as a family of four, and ended it as a family of five with the arrival of babyS. Our beautiful boy to complete our family.

Needless to say with being heavily pregnant over the Summer and throwing an illness and hospital stay into the mix, and of course the birth of babyS we didn’t  manage as many trips and holidays as we had hope for.

Here is our 2016 roundup… I hope you enjoy 🙂

Tenerife

We have visited Tenerife for the last 2 years and had a wonderful time. It’s a beautiful and friendly place. Traveling in February means the weather is just perfect for our little ones (and Mr S who isn’t a huge fan of the heat).
We have visited the same place for the last two years and therefore are familiar with the family friendly restaurants and places to visit. We have never hired a car as we enjoy the walking but there is so much to explore on this beautiful island. I hear the water park is worth a visit too!

Scotland

I am hoping to do a separate  blog about our adventures in Scotland this year as I think it is one of our most favourite trips in Otis to date. It was breathtaking. We made the long but beautiful journey North,  visiting Lochness, Loch Lomond, Arisaig and Isle of Skye during May half term with our friends. We fell in love with the beautiful Scottish highlands- it was breathtaking.

Camp Bestival – Lulworth

Everyone who knows us- knows that we  absolutely L O V E a festival and try to visit one every year. This year we tried out Camp Bestival and it didn’t disappoint. The girls loved it, and there is SO much for them to see and do. I was heavily pregnant here, so took things slowly and had lots of Icecream stops 🙂

Abersoch

So this was a special weekend away as it was babyS’s first holiday. We cheated slightly and stayed in a beautiful cottage with him being so tiny and recovering from germs- but we had an amazing family break.

I love Abersoch – it’s a place I have to return to every year . The beaches are beautiful and there is so much to see and do. It’s a little gem of a place.

London

Our final weekend away of 2016. London. You can visit my post here. It was a lovely Christmas visit and we got to visit Somerset house and try out the iceskating. Lil_E adores trains and squeals with excitement at the sight of one- so the tube ride for her was her favourite part of the trip. We will return again in the summer and visit our favourite parks and explore more of what the beautiful city has to offer

So that completes our 2016 review. I can’t wait to plan some wonderful adventures for 2017.

Happy New Year !
