Enjoy a day out in Staffordshire at Trentham Estate:
We are so lucky to have this wonderful place right on our door step. I never tire of a visit to Trentham Gardens, Staffordshire. We love a day out in Staffordshire … a weekend walk around the lake, or a summer picnic after school..not to mention a wander around the shops in search of a unique gift, or a catch up with my parents or my friends over a herbal tea and cake (and yes I really do drink herbal tea)
We have been visiting Trentham for years, and there is so much to do. It feels such a safe place, actually it is a little haven – and I don’t think twice about walking around the lake on my own, armed with a flask and a mug before seeking out a peaceful picnic bench and watching the world go by. Saying that, you will often find me walking around the lake with babyS tucked up in the pushchair, my little girls following donned in their trusty wellies and tutus combo and my hubby by my side with a coffee in his hand.
I think I have actually walked around the lake three times over this last week. The weather has been so mild, and lil_E loves to try to find the fairies dotted around the lake before hitting the adventure playground. Me? Well I never tire of this beautiful peaceful view of the lake or of an excuse to get some fresh air and Spring sunshine on my cheeks.
Trentham Gardens in Staffordshire: family friendly
Over the last couple of weeks we have taken a different route and started to explore the Italian gardens. The flowers are all starting to bloom and the colours of Spring are well and truly evident.
Walks around Trentham Lake,
If you take the full circular lakeside walk then you will walk just over two miles. I really enjoy the walk, the paths are really buggy friendly, and the girls love the walk as there lots to see and do along the way. There is so much wildlife around, and the girls always enjoy spotting the 15 Trentham fairies dotted around the estate. The reward at the end of the walk is the adventure playground, barefoot walk and the maze and maybe a cheeky ice cream 🙂
Tesco Clubcard Trentham Gardens
We purchase our annual pass every year. Actually I will let you into our secret.. we use our tesco clubcard vouchers to purchase our annual family membership at Trentham gardens making it excellent value and even more special that it hasn’t cost us the earth. What’s more, a family membership consists of two adults and three children….which coming from a family of five is really wonderful – as most family passes are often for two adults and two children.

The shopping village is a must to visit. Visitors can also take a boat ride on the lake on Trentham’s boat, Miss Elizabeth, or take a ride on the miniature train, the Trentham Fern.
