We love our days out with the kids, and I am always in search of local days out and events in Staffordshire and Cheshire. Here are 15 family events taking place over Easter in Staffordshire and Cheshire

World of Wedgwood – Easter fun  (Saturday 13 April – Sunday 28 April 2019)

We are huge fans of World of Wedgwood, Stoke-on-Trent, and this Easter there is lots going on including  themed creative activities to Factory Tours. There is a children’s Museum trail with a prize for every child and a nature trail through Hem Heath Woods in partnership with the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust.  You can also enjoy Pot Throwing, Pottery Painting and Ceramic Design.

Trentham Monkey Forest  (Saturday 13th April- Sunday 28th April 2019) 

Follow the Easter Trail to find the hidden word. Midweek events include RSPB, British Wildlife Rescue Centre, Bee Conservation and Staffordshire Wildlife Trust.There will also be face painting* every weekend of the Easter holidays. *extra charges apply.

Biddulph Grange Gardens (19th -22nd April 2019 trails take place 10am – 4.30pm) 

Run around the gardens in search for the hidden eggs and bunnies, for a tasty Cadbury’s chocolate reward.

Emma Bridgewater –Easter at the Factory (Saturday 6th to Sunday 28th April 2019)

Head to Emma Biedgwater in Stoke on Trent and you can design your own piece of Emma Bridgewater pottery  in the decorating studio or follow a free tail around the factory to win a treat.

Shugborough Estate 

There is so much for you to do this Easter at Shugborough Estate. You can try your hand at the zip-wire in the play area, and spot the animals playing out in the field. Families can discover Shugborough’s  history of seafaring explorers and hard-working servants in the mansion, servant’s quarters and Lichfield Apartment. Not forgetting The Big Tree Climb and the Little Landscapers Trail. You can also try and complete your ’50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾’ booklet!

Mad Hatters Tea Party-  Churnet Valley Railway (15th – 22nd April 2019) 

From 15th April 2019 Churnet Valley Railway are opening its doors for you to explore the wonderful world of wonderland for an event that both children of all ages and adults will enjoy.  Climb aboard on a train and travel through the stunning Staffordshire countryside with its picturesque views and join in the fun with a range of games and treats. Help Alice find the White Rabbit whilst riding the rails and tuck into a selection of drinks and tasty cakes.  With activities both before and after your train journey, there is plenty of fun to be had for the whole family. Double the fun and excitement by entering the ‘Design a Teapot’ competition. One lucky winner will be chosen each day to win a family pass to an event of their choice*.

National Forest Adventure Farm – Easter Eggstravaganza (13 – 28 April 2019)

Visit the National Forest Adventure Farm over the Easter holidays for lots of Easter fun!

Meet the Easter bunny, enjoy the Easter Eggspress Tractor and Trailer Ride, follow the woodland path collecting the animal stamps and be entertained by some interesting animal characters before meeting the Easter Bunny! Finally you can help to bottle feed the lambs.

Tamworth Castle (13th – 28th April 2019) 

Visit Tamworth Castle over Easter for family fun with a special Easter egg hunt. Ruby the Castle Dragon has disguised her eggs so that the dragon hunter doesn’t find them! Head to the Castle this Easter for this lovely egg hunt.

Lower Drayton Farm, Staffordshire (Saturday 13th – Sunday 28th April 2019)

Lower Drayton Farm are offering some special Easter-themed treats at the farm this holiday!  Take part in a fun Easter egg quiz trail, create springtime crafts and help to bottle feed our orphan lambs. The farm trailer ride will focus on the new life that’s springing up all around the farm at this time of year, whilst the nature trail and woodland walks will showcase springtime in all its glory.  All this plus lots of friendly animals to meet and an adventure playground where the kids can let off steam.

Over Easter weekend  (Good Friday 19th April, Saturday 20th April, Easter Sunday 21st April and Bank Holiday Monday 22nd April) the Easter Bunny will be making personal appearances throughout the day, and kids can join in fun egg & spoon races

Join in this fun adventure trail to help the Easter Bunny find his friends who are hiding around the Village, collect a prize with each completed trail map purchased.

Children can enjoy breakfast or tea with the Easter bunny where you can enjoy a lovely meal, enjoy an Easter trail and chocolate treat, meet the Easter Bunny and decorate your own Easter chocolate.

Tatton Park (19th – 22nd April 2019) 

Various family activities are on offer over the weekend including  easter trails with the Fairy Godmother in the Mansion, Rappunzel in the Gardens and Gingerbread Man at the Farm. You will also find magic show, puppet shows, glitter tattoos and seasonal food and gifts!

Knutsford Bunny Hop (20th April 2019)

Gather the family at this fun event where you will scour across Knutsford to find eight bunnies hidden in among the town centre’s streets. Once found, write the bunny’s name on a postcard and post it into the Heritage Centre’s post box. A number of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops will also be joining in the fun by handing out Easter treats, balloons and dressing up.

Cholmondeley Castle Gardens (21st April 2019)

Visit Cholmondeley Castle this Easter and enjoy the beautiful grounds, children’s play areas, lakeside walk and adventure den and tea room. Cholmondeley Castle are also holding and Easter Egg hunt where children can hunt for the hidden bunnies!

Delamere Forest – Forest Fables, Peter Rabbit Easter Egg Hunt (April 16th 2019  10:30 am12:00 pm)

Age: Recommended 18 months – 5 years

Peter Rabbit Easter Egg hunt on the 16th April will begin with reading the book Peter Rabbit’s Easter Egg Hunt and moving on to activities including a mini Easter hunt. There will also be the opportunity of free play in the swing, hammock, obstacle course and mud kitchen.

Recommended age 18 months – 5 years

All children must be accompanied by an adult (Adults attend free but please pay for all children taking part in the event)
