I know January can bring about the blues for many, but I actually love the calm and peace that January seems to bring. I have to say, although December is one of my favourite months, I also find it hectic with all the rushing about, school events, Christmas shopping, parties and so on. For me, January is that welcomed calm. A time when we take a breather, look forward, make plans, and enjoy the slower pace of life.
As this blog is a new venture, I wanted to start to take time at the end of each month to recap, and look back on any trips, family adventures or special family moments that we have enjoyed, and to write a monthly roundup.
January 2017
So what did January mean for us? This month bought about a lot of germs….and I mean a L O T !! We had no choice but to stop..slow down… rest and recuperate. We enjoyed lots of cuddles on the sofa, I painted little nails on numerous occasions ( just the girls may I add!) watched films, took some lovely winter walks and basically just enjoyed the company of my friends and family. Sitting here looking back through our photographs I have come to realise that our finest moments, were those very ordinary moments, and those when the mini me’s found enjoyment out of the most simple things.
January was made for winter walks….enjoying the fresh air…jumping in muddy puddles…eating snow and finding those free days out with the kids – and lets face it – it’s these days that often bring about the most fun and laughter. I have come to realise that we have such beauty right on our doorstep….we didn’t need to venture far for a family adventure or too.
So we wore wellington boots…snow suits..hats..scarves.. winter coats…and big smiles.
