March 2017 Round Up

March 2017 Round Up

We have had rather a quiet March.  I love to plan, but I equally think sometimes it is nice to go with the flow and take each day as it comes. February was really quite busy for us with days out and family life in general. Don’t get me wrong…..I enjoy busy. I joke that our life is hectic, organised and happy chaos – and I love that. I am definitely the type of person that can make even the most calm and peaceful life have an edge of chaos to it.

We have been without Otis the campervan for quite a chunk of the month, as we have been in the middle of  the yearly service, MOT and general ‘ sprucing up’ in preparation for our up coming adventures and road trips.

Despite my blog being predominantly a family travel blog, I am afraid to say that we haven’t travelled anywhere this month. We have enjoyed some lovely family days out though, and generally inhaled lots of fresh air and enjoyed lots of outdoor time.

Outdoor Kids

This month I have spent many a day at Trentham Estate. I am making good use of that annual pass. We don’t live anywhere near a beach, but we are lucky enough to have Trentham Estate nearby and so I have enjoyed lots of lovely sunny walks around the lake,  visiting the shops, enjoying a slice of cake or two, and generally spending time in the Italian gardens……what maternity leave is all about -right?!  Trentham gardens has a really lovely adventure playground, and the girls love it.

Last week while Mr S was working away, I took all three little ones out and had a splashing time at The Wolseley Centre, Nr Rugeley, Stafford. It was a really enjoyable day out and the girls enjoyed feeding the ducks, having a picnic in the rain and generally spending most of the day on the splash bridge. Baby S sat snuggled in the pushchair and as always took it all in. It was a really lovely day, and even better that it was completely free.  You can read about our day at Wolseley here.

Finally, last weekend saw Mother’s day, and I can honestly say we didn’t move from the house and I loved it. We spent all weekend pottering about in the house and in the garden, continuing with the cleaning and preparing of Otis, packing the camper ready for our up and coming trip to Scotland, and generally enjoying some laid back family time.

Blogging

I have to say I love having my own little place on the internet to record all our adventures, trips, days out or ordinary moments. I introduced my new blog header this month drawn by the lovely Hannah Doodles and I am a little bit in love with it. I think she has captured our family perfectly.

This month I have contributed to the Britmums Travel round up: All around the world, and contributed to a really great Survival guide for your first family festival by the lovely Claire at  Tin Box traveller.

Posts I have published this month

Last month was my second month since Otis and Us was established, and I also took the plunge and moved over to self hosted. I have ranked 299 in the TRIPS100 UK travel blogs. I know I have some way to go but it is something that has made me really proud.

Social Media

I am really enjoying growing my social media, and finding wonderful blogs to follow and enjoy.  I think Instagram is my absolute favourite. I have a real love of taking photographs and I find this community is a particularly lovely one.I had three featured images this month which put a huge smile on my face…the little things in life and all that jazz 🙂

Well I think that completes my March round up. Although it has been quieter, March has been all about vibrant colour, outdoor fun, fresh air and family time.

What wonderful things have you been up to this month?

Thanks for stopping by,

MrsS
