Mi Abode Travel Storage Book REVIEW

Mi Abode Travel Storage Book REVIEW

Travel Memories

This year we have been lucky enough to visit London, East Lothian, Edinburgh, York, The Lake District and Pembrokeshire in our camper van, Otis, and we also have a wonderful road trip planned over the Summer. With three young children I often wonder if they will have any memories or recollections of the places that they have visited at such a young age, so I always try to take many photographs during our trip.

When we were sent this beautiful Mi Abode Travel Storage book, I literally had the biggest smile. Creating lasting family memories has always been so very important to me, so there could not have been a more thoughtful gift to come through my letter box.

Mi Abode

I was initially introduced to Mi Abode at one of the first blogging conferences that I attended. I was drawn to the wonderful display of beautiful contemporary and stylish Scandinavian inspired pieces in front of me. Mi Abode is a Scandinavian homeware and interior boutique in Upper Mill, Saddleworth, a few miles from Manchester.

If like me you are not entirely local to the area, then luckily there is a wonderful online shop where you can sit and browse through all the beautiful items from the comfort of your own sofa.

Mi Abode is about mixing affordable and beautiful vintage items with contemporary Scandinavian design pieces, and you can purchase anything from notebooks and cool bags, candles and lights to contemporary throws and cushions. If you have heard the Nordic word ‘hygge’ thrown about just lately, then that is because this is the year to create a simple, happy, cosy and warm environment, and you will definitely find beautiful nordic inspiration here.

Travel treasures

At the beginning of every year I always have so many good intentions to take time to print out my holiday photos, fill in memory books with every last detail of our road trips and build up travel scrapbooks to display all the treasures that we have collected along the way. Truth be told, I never find the time. I have travel journals and baby memory books that I have purchased with the intent to sit and fill them in but they sit empty on our shelves. We come home from holiday with buckets of shells and pebbles that the girls have collected, little pots of sand, dream catchers and friendship bracelets that we have purchased from the local markets, and they seem to get lost or cast to one side.

So this year is going to be different. We have already started to print out our favourite holiday snaps, and we have started to collect (and add to our storage book) our pretty shells and pebbles, travel tickets, maps of our Scotland road trip routes, currency and souvenirs from all of our recent trips. We recently visited a beautiful fairy garden on our travels, and came home with a couple of extra wishing ribbons and some magic fairy dust, which this time we have saved rather than thrown away or left in the campervan.

I once found this quote as I was searching for holiday inspiration on pinterest and it speaks volumes….
