The Snowman Tour 2017.
Okay – I know its only September.
But I am a serious planner when it comes to Christmas. I absolutely love searching out those magical Christmas family events, and meticulously planning for a memorable run up to Christmas Day for our three little people. There are some really special Christmas Events that are so magical and popular that tickets really do sell out before the summer has even truly finished.

So last year we visited The Snowman Tour at Chester Cathedral, and we absolutely loved it. Having watched the show, I can tell you first hand that it is truly a magical event – and I hope it will continue to be a firm Christmas tradition in our household for many years to come. For us, The Snowman epitomises the magic of Christmas. We have always loved watching it on the TV with the tree lights twinkling and the anticipation of Christmas in the air, therefore, watching it in a cathedral, accompanied by a live orchestra… well nothing beats it. When we were invited along to see the Snowman Tour 2017 in one of their new venues: Liverpool Cathedral – of course we jumped at the chance.

Imagine the iconic film on a big screen, accompanied by a world class live orchestra in a beautiful setting. This year Carrot Productions have added Liverpool Cathedral, Blackpool Tower Ballroom, York Minster, Lichfield Cathedral and Coventry Cathedral to their list of wonderful venues. Tickets for some venues have nearly sold out already.
This year there are three programmes on offer depending on the venue. At some venues you will find a brand new animated film of The Bear and the Piano by David Litchfield, with a recorded narration by Joanna Lumley. York, Worcester, Lichfield, Liverpool and Durham venues promise Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite. Finally at some venues you will find the story of Cinderella. All performances are then followed by The Snowman. Please check individual venues for more details.
Following on from their sell-out tour last December, this year promises an extra special performance of live spectacular music, a solo performance of ‘Walking in the Air’ and a visit from The Snowman himself – I don’t know who is more excited, and I know my children are going to love it!!!

I can’t speak highly enough of this magical tour, and I am so excited to return this year. It really does kickstart the Christmas celebrations in our household. Take a look at their promotional video – but be warned…tickets are selling out fast!!
