Choosing a twin centre holiday with kids: Mexico and New York City

Years ago, before children, Mr Otis and Us and I loved nothing more than booking a twin centre holiday, or a multi centre holiday.

Why choose a twin centre holiday?

A twin centre holiday allows you to book more than one destination in one trip, to get the best of both worlds by really experiencing one destination before moving on to explore the next one! There are so many twin centre destinations to choose, from city breaks to beach escapes.

Is a twin centre or multi centre holiday for you?

We always have different ideas when it comes to holidays…my husband would choose a ski holiday or safari over a beach holiday any day. I would choose a beach holiday as I hold onto that idyllic dream of relaxing, reading a book and watching the kids play on the beach! When choosing a holiday it is difficult to please everyone, and I guess that is why our campervan road trips just seem to work for us as a family…we can just keep moving on and exploring different destinations.

Years ago (pre kids) we would often choose a twin centre holiday or a multi centre trip – each choosing our favourite destination. I have fond memories of our week long South African safari that ended with a week in Mauritius – a holiday with a real mix of adventure, animals, water sports and scuba diving.

Twin Centre holiday

Whether you love a city break, a relaxing trip or an adventure, there are endless options for a twin centre, or multi centre holiday that mean there really is something for everyone.

Reminiscing about our Mauritius/South Africa twin centre holiday and our Singapore/Thailand holiday, it got me thinking where would we go now with our three children in tow?

A twin centre holiday: New York City and Mexico

We have visited New York twice before and I would love to return with the children next time. We visited NYC both at Thanksgiving time and then we returned again for a New Year break, and each time it was truly incredible. There is so much to do in New York with kids and I also think it is possible to enjoy NYC with a toddler. A family trip to New York City is definitely on my wishlist over the next couple of years.

Why NYC with kids?

The Broadway shows…. Central Park…. The Empire State Building… The coffee shops…. Times Square…..Rockefeller Centre….. I could go on.

A week is never long enough and I always vowed that I would love to return one day and take the kids iceskating in Central Park!

After a week of exploring the fabulous New York City, a relaxing beach break in the sunshine definitely appeals. So where would we go?

Why Mexico with kids?

TravelPlanners offer a twin centre holiday with an all inclusive week in Mexico at a beachfront location.

When we visited Mexico, we found it to be a great country to travel with children as it is very family friendly.

The Riviera Maya is a great option for families with beautiful beaches, plenty of family friendly resorts with pools, kids clubs, activities and kid friendly restaurants and buffets.

This type of holiday can add variety to your trip and ensure everyone gets the holiday that they dream of.

Where would you choose?
