The Snowman

The Snowman

The Snowman

I am letting you in to a little secret here, it is a day trip that is not too publicised and therefore stays that little bit magical.  This year we visited the beautiful city of Chester at Christmas time to watch The Snowman at Chester Cathedral. The journey in Otis is not a long one, but it is still nice to travel in comfort, and to make sure we arrive in time to make a cuppa, refuel the kids, and change a nappy without dashing around looking for a baby change facility en route.

This event is truly magical and kick starts the festive celebrations for us, and helps to get us all into the Christmas spirit.  This year didn’t fail to disappoint.  The snowman film is accompanied by a 25-piece orchestra and not forgetting this year there was a guest appearance from the big man himself, ‘The Snowman’,  which saw my 2 year old squealing with excitement. It is a family friendly show and even baby S, appeared mesmerised by the rhythm of the music and the twinkling Christmas lights at the Cathedral.

I like to believe that this will be a family tradition that we will forever continue, to mark the start of our Christmas celebrations.  There is something so magical about the Snowman film, don’t you think ?! I think it is the fact that it is accompanied by the most magical music, and is narrated through pictures to let your imagination create the adventure.

At the end of the show we like to light a candle for some special angels and make a wish for the following year.

We have introduced the mini me’s to a true childhood classic , I genuinely am not sure who enjoys it more… (I spied Mr S tapping away to the percussion)! Yes.. this will definitely be a family memory that I hope we will continue for many years to come.
