Monday Escapes 10/12/18

Hello and welcome to Monday Escapes! Firstly I wanted to apologise for having to take a forced ‘blog break’. We have had a really manic couple of months with germs, work, and renovating our house. I am back now, so I can only say a huge sorry! I really enjoyed reading all of your lovely posts. Thanks again for linking up and I am looking forward to reading your travel posts over the Christmas break.

What have we been up to?

We have spent the last few weeks with intermittent heating, intermittent internet, and no kitchen so it has been chaotic to say the least. I am typing away on the train having spent a couple of days in London with work so I am looking forward to a weekend at home, a couple of days of ‘pottering.’ So what else have we been up to? Well a couple of weekends ago I headed to St Ives in Cornwall for our annual girly weekend. It was absolutely brilliant, I do love my girls, and Mr Otis and Us had a lovely weekend with the little tribe too.

Christmas Events

Last weekend we enjoyed a lovely trip to Churnet Valley Railway for their Santa and Steam experience. It was a really magical family day and a wonderful opportunity for the children to meet Father Christmas during the train ride. The views over Staffordshire Moorlands were pretty special too.

Our Favourite posts from last time

Thanks again for linking up to Monday Escapes. I particularly loved the post written by Jo over at Kiddieholidays – 3 Magical Scottish Islands You MUST Take Your Toddler To.

We visited Skye a couple of years ago as we explored Scotland on our road trip. This post made me want to pack the camper and explore, Isle of Arran, Isle Of Cumbrae and The Isle of Bute. Absolutely stunning photos and a great guide for anyone exploring  Scotland.

Our Lonely Planet Winner

As we mentioned last week, we are thrilled that Lonely Planet have been kind enough to continue to offer either a destination guide, or a title from the Lonely Planet Kids range to the writer of our favourite post each fortnight. (See T&C’s below).

We chose Jo’s post from Kiddieholidays as our favourite this week.

Please do get in touch Jo to claim your prize!

Monday Escapes

Monday Escapes is a place to share and look back at your favourite travel memories; from day trips, holidays, trips of a life time and everything else in between. It doesn’t  have to be a written post, we love you to share your favourite travel snapshots too. Monday Escapes is simply a place for you to link up with like-minded people and share your travel and adventures, and hopefully grab some travel inspiration along the way.

The linky is now run by Daisy at Dais Like These and myself at Otis and Us.

Monday Escapes what’s in it for you

Monday Escapes is an opportunity to share you favourite travel posts, memories or photos.

The thing to remember is that you’ll be sharing your lovely travel posts with a like-minded community and grabbing some travel inspiration for yourself. As a bonus you have a chance to have your blog post featured on mine and Daisy’s blogs each fortnight and therefore introducing your blog to even more people. We will also re-tweet anyone who uses the #MondayEscapes hashtag.

We are also absolutely delighted to link up with Lonely Planet to offer our number one favourite blog post of the fortnight either a destination guide, or a title from the Lonely Planet Kids range. (See T&C’s below). Just another great reason to link up with Monday Escapes!

How does Monday Escapes work and how do you join in?

• Link up to one post/photo – old or new.
• Please make sure to include the Monday Escapes badge (you will find the code below) at the bottom of the post, on your site, or a link back to the hosts.
• Posts are anything travel-related, and can include photos, reviews, days out, attractions and walks – at home or abroad.
• Comment on posts by the co-hosts and at least two others. Linkys only work if you share the comment love. That’s why they’re so great! Make sure you add #MondayEscapes to the end of your comment so people can see where you’ve come from.
• If you tweet either of us your links @daisyhuntington and @Otisandus_blog please use #MondayEscapes and we will be sure to retweet.
• Similarly, if you want to show off your photos on Instagram using #MondayEscapes, we will show those photos some love too.

Monday Escapes will go live every two weeks, alternating between Daisy and I, and will be open Monday to Wednesday. Every fortnight we will be giving a shout out to some of our favourite posts and photos.
