Moon landing Maize Maze – National Forest Adventure Farm

Moon landing Maize Maze – National Forest Adventure Farm

We genuinely absolutely love a family day out at the National Forest Adventure Farm, near Burton- upon-Trent.

We first visited The National Forest Adventure Farm for the Pirates adventure, and then returned for the superb and memorable North Pole Adventure. Visiting here is honestly one of my favourite days out with the kids, so when we were invited along to review the Moon Landing Maize Maze, I did not hesitate, I knew it would make for a wonderful family day out.

The National Forest Adventure Farm

You will find The National Forest Adventure Farm in Burton upon Trent in Staffordshire. It offers farm animals in abundance, and indoor and outdoor fun for all ages. Over the year the National Forest Adventure Farm hosts a number of events including Easter, Summer, Halloween and Christmas events. Our first visit to the farm was for the the Pirates of the Maize Maze a couple of years ago, and we have been huge fans since then.

Moon Landing Maize Maze

The Moon Landing Maize Maze is held between 3 July – 2 September 2019

This year the Summer event is a Maize Maze designed to celebrate 50 years since the manned first moon landing on 20 July 1969. You can navigate the 10 acre maze, find and solve space-themed puzzles to help the Lunar Crew fix their space craft in order to return home safely.

With little legs we tried out the Mini Maze, where we hunted for all of the planets and stamps before finding our exit. The kids were rewarded with a sticker and a treat on completion! Totally perfect for little explorers!

Space Rangers Alien Rescue

The kids loved joining the space rangers! Everyone turned into a space cadet with a mission to travel to the Zygon’s planet, find the eggs and then return home safely. With guidance from ‘Space Man’, we travelled to space, learned a space walk, rescued the eggs and returned them to safety before being awarded space ranger status. This was an absolutely lovely interactive experience.

National Forest Adventure Farm- The rest

The Animals

There are so many animals to see here. We took a lovely walk around the paddocks and met chickens, sheep, alpaca, cows and goats. I also love the animal barn, where the children can meet the guinea pigs, rabbits and chicks.

Assault Course

There is something about an assault course that the kids seem to love, so it was always quite busy around this area. They love climbing, swinging and balancing don’t they? With a couple of handstands thrown in to the mix!

Jumping Pillows

You can spot the jumping pillows as you park the car. The kids spent a good hour bouncing around on the jumping pillows. There is also a bouncing pillow especially for the smaller members of the tribe, so it felt really safe and a little bit calmer.

Tractor and Trailer Rides

Every hour*, you can enjoy a wonderful tractor and trailer ride around the farm, looking out for the numerous scarecrows dotted around the farm. My little boy absolutely loved the tractor ride.

* check programme for daily times.

JCB Digger Area and Go Karts

Our little boy loved the JCB dig zone and the go karts. Here the kids can dig in the sandpit, and generally just set about working on the JCB diggers. We paid an additional £1 a ride for our three to have a little go on the go karts.

Musical Maze

The musical maze is new for 2019, and is a lovely addition to the farm. The kids can navigate around the maze, playing the musical instruments along the way.

The rest!

Beat the goalie, Jurassic canyon sand play, the duck pond, crazy golf, and the barrel stampede …… there is just so much on offer for the kids here. One day isn’t enough!

Moon Landing Maize Maze review

We genuinely love a day out here with the kids. There is so much to do, and we came away knowing that we missed a few areas out, so I guess that just calls for another visit! The moon landing maize maze and space rangers alien rescue is such a brilliant summer adventure. We all really enjoyed it. Do plan a visit over the summer – You won’t be disappointed!
