2019 Travel Plans

I feel like we have been quite quiet of late, our weeks have all been about working hard and our weekends have involved kicking back relaxing and generally ‘pottering’ at home. As much as I love our family travel, I equally love lazy weekends in our home, enjoying quality time with our friends and family. When the lovely Natalie who writes over at Plutonium Sox asked me to share our travel plans and dreams for 2019 I thought it would be a great opportunity to look at what is in our diary for this year and talk about further plans and travel ideas.

We have travelled so much over the last two years with camper van trips, glamping stays and overseas travel. I think this year may be slightly slower as we look to continue to put our mark on our home. We have just finished work on our kitchen and plan to move our attention to the snug/living room and the hallway. That being said, I always get itchy feet and can’t sit still for too long, so I am excited to share with you our 2019 travel plans!

Campervan travel

February – Chester and North Wales

Mr Otis and Us and I lived in Chester for a few years and I loved it so much so I am looking forward to meeting up with our friends and exploring Chester and North Wales for a few days over half term. We are hoping to travel to Anglesey to visit Penmon Point, and squeeze in the Cheshire Ice Cream farm and a wander around Chester.

May – Lake Maggiore in Italy with Bookings For You

Last year I was lucky enough to be invited to Tuscany with such a wonderful group of blogging friends. We were hosted by Bookings for You, and had the opportunity to stay in the absolutely stunning Villa Le Capanne. Vera and Darius were just incredible hosts and we had such an incredible trip. I fell in love with  beautiful Volterra. Jo at Bookings for you has invited us to Lake Maggiore to stay at the Golf Gabella Resort. Having visited Lake Maggiore last year I really can’t wait to return.

June – Dordogne, France with Eurocamp

Towards the end of May we are off to spend a week in the Dordogne, France with Eurocamp. Dordogne is a place I have wanted to explore for so long, and I am hoping we will have the opportunity to try out some canoeing, and visit Bergerac and the medieval town of Sarlat during our stay. Fingers crossed the sun shines for us!

July/August –  Puy Du Fou and Glisten Camping

August will see us heading to Vendée in France to visit Puy Du Fou. I first learned about Puy Du Fou when Sarah at Extraordinary Chaos visited last year. I am so looking forward to visiting with the little ones, and exploring this wonderful historical theme park that has been described as France’s best kept secret!

During our two-week trip we will be heading to the South West of France for a magical glamping stay. I am so very excited about our stay in this incredible and unique site. The domes… the giant hammocks… the location – it looks awesome and we are all very excited to visit.

Family Friendly Festivals

You know how much the Otis and Us Tribe love a festival…. and this year we have a couple of festivals in the diary.

Elderflower Fields

We missed Elderflower Fields last year as we were travelling to Croatia. So I am really happy that we have been invited to the three-day festival on 24th-27th May 2019 in Pippingford Park, East Sussex. So what can you expect at Elderflower fields?…yoga, tree climbing, pond dipping, skateboarding, arts camp, kayaking, mountain biking, mud kitchen and camp fires. It sounds a whole lot of fun!!

Just So Festival

We live in Staffordshire and not a year goes by without us heading to the Just So Festival. It is a firm favourite of ours and we have visited for the last few years. The event is held on the 16th, 17th and 18th August at Rode Hall Estate in Cheshire and we are so excited to have been invited along to the 2019 Just So Festival. Here is what we thought of this magical festival last year!

Dream Winter Holiday –Lapland with kids

I followed Cathy over at Mummy Travels and her amazing Lapland break last year, and wow what a wonderful experience with children. I really would love to go with the kids, and maybe this year will be our year… who knows, but a Lapland Santa break is firmly on our Otis and Us bucket list!

So there you have our travel plans for 2019, of course they may change slightly and hoping we will squeeze a visit to our family in London, and a few campervan and glamping weekends in too over the year.
