It has been an incredibly difficult year for everyone, and one that has involved lockdowns and local walks, rather than road trips and vanlife adventures. With Spring just around the corner… and the hope of lockdown easing, we are starting to make plans in the hope that we get to experience some wonderful camping trips during 2021. We love vanlife as a family. We love to visit new places, experience new things, and spend time as a family in the great outdoors. The kids love nothing more than a break in the routine and sleeping in our pop top roof.
Whilst we have been unable to travel, we have still made the most of the van on our driveway by regularly having picnics, discos, film nights and campouts on the driveway. Last Summer we joined in with the Big Little Tent Festival, where we camped at home, held a tea party in the campervan and kept the kids entertained whilst lockdown continued and we couldn’t get out and about. Why we love our VW campervan
We purchased our T5 camper about 8 years ago and have slowly adapted it as our family have grown. We get asked a lot how we all fit in a VW T5, truth is it is down to good packing and clever storage ideas! It goes without saying that We love our T5 camper and hope to create many more family memories.
We are always on the look out for beautiful campsites, that are fairly near to attractions, with good amenities, and campsites that are family friendly.

Coniston Park Coppice Caravan Club Site
Another one of our favourite campsites and we would return in a heartbeat.

A wonderful feature here is the campsite is within easy access of Coniston Water, offering a beautiful, scening base for an active holiday in the lakes. The Firs Caravan Club Site
The Firs is a club site in Belper, Derbyshire. It is a beautifully presented campsite, family friendly and with good facilities. It offers level pitching and is nearby the beautiful village of Matlock bath and the town of Belper. We stayed last year and really loved this campsite in Derbyshire
The campsite offers electric hookup, Wi-Fi, dishwashing facilities, baby changing facilities, and a dog walk on site.
There are many scenic cycle paths nearby and for keen walkers The Peak District and Derbyshire Dales offer many beautiful scenic walks.
Godrevy Park Caravan Club Site
We have friends who live in Cornwall and have always tried to visit as much as we can. We have stayed in in St Ives and love it here. The Godrevy Park Club Site is situated near a lovely beach facing St Ives Bay.
During the school holidays this campsite buzzes with life. There is a play area and play ground, beaches nearby and the campsite offers easy access to a number of quaint Cornish Villages including Coverack, Mullion, Porthleven, Newlyn and Mousehole.
