About Titanic the Musical

Considered one of the most tragic disasters of the 20th Century. In the final hours of 14th April 1912 the RMS Titanic, on her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York, collided with an iceberg and ‘the unsinkable ship’ slowly sank. 1517 men, women and children lost their lives.

Titanic The Musical is a stunning production that focuses on the hopes, dreams and aspirations of the passengers who boarded with stories and personal ambitions of their own and all innocently unaware of the fate awaiting them.

With music and lyrics by Maury Yeston and a book by Peter Stone, together, they have won an Academy Award, an Emmy Award, an Olivier Award and three Tony awards. The original Broadway production of Titanic The Musical won five Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book.

Review: Titanic The Musical at the Regent, Hanley

Titanic the Musical brings to life the dream of speed, size and power. The show highlights the differences and experiences of the first, second and third class guests. The third class immigrants with hopes and dreams of finding a better life in America. The second class with their dream of leisure and to rub shoulders with the rich and famous. And finally the first class, the movers and the shakers, the aristocrats and millionaires.

I loved husband and wife Isidor and Ida Straus, (played by David Delve and Valda Aviks). They’re unwavering love for each other, with a story of true love and devotion. Kate McGowan (played by Lucie-Mae Sumner) and Alice Beane (played by Bree Smith) were both incredible and charismatic on stage. Captain Edward Smith who is played by Graham Bickley was born in Well Street, Hanley and he received a HUGE applause!!
