For any of you that that know us – we have a love a family break in Cornwall. A couple of of my special friends are lucky enough to call Cornwall their home, so we try to get down to see them once or twice a year. During half term we took a trip down to Cornwall in search of February sunshine, beach walks and a catch up with our friends. We love a hotel with a sea view, so here are a few hotels with a sea view in St Ives, Cornwall to inspire you … Cornwall really is a beautiful part of the UK.
I have a real love for St Ives…I love the beaches, the little coffee shops, restaurants and unique gift shops, and I love the rugged coastal walks. Although we visited in February half term when it is notoriously cold, we still managed to throw on our coats and head to the beach most days to get some of that Cornish salty fresh air into our lungs. The beaches in St Ives are stunning, and are probably amongst my favourite. Here I have listed 5 hotels with spectacular sea views in St Ives!

Carbis Bay Beach
Carbis bay beach is a particular favourite of ours is one of Cornwall’s eight award-winning Blue Flag 2017 beaches. Just one mile east of St Ives, Carbis Bay Beach is an expanse of sand and an ideal beach for families. The beach is beautifully clean and has been awarded Keep Britain Tidy’s Seaside Award for 2016 and 2017.
Carbis Bay Hotel & Estate offers a spectacular coastal retreat and has stunning sea views and direct access to its privately owned 25 acre Blue Flag beach.
The Gannet is a sister hotel to the Carbis Bay Hotel, Spa & Estate mentioned above. Offering boutique bedrooms, a restaurant and bar area, it is just a short walk from the beautiful Carbis Bay beach.
Porthminster beach
Harbour beach
I have great memories of sitting on Harbour beach with a traditional cornish pastry and a cup of tea, watching the world go by. The beach is best when the tide is out, it is sheltered by the harbour walls and has a fabulous central location so the shops, restaurants, cafes and bakeries are just a short distance away.
The Pedn Olva, is situated on the granite rocks on the southern shores of St Ives Harbour and Bay. With direct access to the beach, this St Ives hotel is within a 10-minute walk of St Ives Theatre, Porthminster Beach and St Ives Harbour. Barbara Hepworth Museum and Salthouse Gallery are also within 10 minutes.
Porthmeor beach
Situated just behind Tate St Ives, this beach is popular with both surfers and families. It is within walking distance of shops and amenities in St Ives, and has a huge expanse of golden sand, and really fabulous waves!
The Garrack is hidden down a lane above the bustle of St Ives with a secluded feel, yet offering spectacular ocean views. The hotel is situated in St Ives and Tate St Ives and Porthmeor Beach are within 15 minutes walk. The hotel is also approximately a 15-minute walk to St.Ives Theatre, Barbara Hepworth Museum and Leach Pottery Museum.
