Last year we enjoyed a wonderful Summer road trip in France, travelling through the West Coast and into Spain before catching the ferry back from Santander. I can honestly say over the last couple of years we have found some of the best campsites in France, all very different campsites but extremely family friendly and perfect for camping with kids. Here is our Camping Le Pin Parasol review

AD | I have been or could be if you click on a link in this post compensated via a cash payment, gift or something else of value for writing this post. See our disclosure policy and privacy policy for more details.

Camping in the Vendée

Whilst searching for the best campsites in Vendee for families we came across Le Pin Parasol in the Vendée region of France. Le Pin Parasol is available to book through The Camping and Caravanning Club, who offer a great range of campsite locations, from coastal escapes to inland retreats in the UK and Europe. We came across Le Pin Parasol, described as a campsite in two parts with two characters and we were keen to find out more. Unfortunately it was booked up during the August holidays, and I always think this is a sign of a good campsite. They did however have an additional motorhome pitch just off the main campsite and as we were staying just for a short stop over before heading to Puy du Fou, we booked this and it was absolutely perfect for us.

LE PIN PARASOL NATURE AND SENSE

Nature & Sense area has been designed with luxury and elegance in mind. It is most definitely an outstanding holiday parc, for those looking for that extra level of luxury and comfort. Here you will find an incredible spa, a resort style indoor pool, a sensory paddling pool, a water wall, and a 50m swimming corridor. There are also 3 beaches. I would definitely agree that this site is deserving of its 5*. We stayed here for one night, and I would 100% like love to return and stay for longer as it is an incredible campsite  offering a relaxed and luxurious experience.

If you prefer to relax and need a moment to yourself…. There is a wellness and fitness area with a skin room, jacuzzi and sauna.

Activites –  Nature and sense;

*FREE fishing in the pond in Nature & Sense area

*Karting and pumptrack circuit

*Beach volleyball & Football ground

*Mini golf

*Zip-line

*Botanical garden

*Playground for all to enjoy

Pop on the shuttle bus to Le Pin Parasol for more family friendly fun, family activities and pool complex.

LE PIN PARASOL SENSATIONS

So I totally could have stayed at Le Pin Parasol nature and sense with the luxury and resort style pool and spa area, but the kids were keen to make a splash in the 3 swimming pools, 2 reception pools and 5 water slides over at Le Pin Parasol Sensations.

The pools were heated and the kids absolutely loved it at this waterpark of 2500 square metres with the largest water slide in the Vendée.  There is an area for everyone, with a beautiful toddler paddling pool bursting with colour and fun. We didn’t have a problem with finding a sun lounger on the edge of the pool to allow us to watch the kids play and swim safely.

Activities- Sensations

*Beach volleyball

*Playground (basketball and football ground)

*Tennis court

*Boules

*Bouncy castle, climbing wall…

*Tennis table

*Playground and game room

You will find plenty of facilities here at Le Pin Parasol across the two sites including bars, restaurant, grocery shop, takeaway and kids club.

Things to do in Vendée

This family friendly campsite located in the Vendée is only 1 hour from the wonderful Puy du Fou park, voted the best theme park in the world….

you can read our review of visiting Puy du Fou with kids here

The beaches at St. Gilles-Croix-de-Vie is just 11 miles away and Les Sables d’Olonne just 15 miles away. You may find our post on things to do near St Jean du Monts with kids helpful.

Le Pin Parasol review with The Camping and Caravanning Club – our final thoughts

What an absolutely beautiful friendly campsite. A place that we merely stopped by but one that we would love to return and stay for a week or longer.  We found the pitches are huge, with well kept pedestrian walkways. The toilet blocks are something you would find in a 5star resort, immaculately kept. The facilities exceptional, with something for everyone. We stayed near to Le pin parasol Nature and sense with its luxurious spa and pool complex, large spaces offering resort camping with luxury and comfort. Definitely worth a visit but be warned …. you won’t want to leave.

Just popping on to check in on everyone, how are you all doing? How are you feeling about the announcements tomorrow?

I know so many are finding it all a bit ‘meh’ at the moment.

So this is a little Sunday reminder to keep doing what makes your soul a

(My usual Sunday campsite share will be a little late - I’ll post it tomorrow I promise - I’ve been painting the girls bedroom all weekend😆 )

My next campsite to share is a really lovely campsite in Llangollen. We were introduced to this lovely site by my beautiful friend @a_girl_on_the_crescent

Suitable for camping, touring caravans and motor homes and camping pods available. There are three self-catering cottages to rent and also a static caravan site.

The camping fields are set next to the ruins of Valle Crusis Abbey, and what we loved the most - there is a small brook that runs across the bottom of the field that the kids absolutely loved.

Camping with kids 🏕

I was going to share my next favourite campsite but thought I would mix it up a bit with a new topic. Campervan storage. So tell me... What is your favourite storage hack?

As our Campervan conversion isn’t quite fully finished we have had to be clever with storage. As a family of five in a T5 space is super tight!

Our favourite hacks so far....

➡️ Using cushion covers / pillow cases to store items

➡️ storage hooks on the back of the seats (I think I learned about this one from @daisy_thefamilycamper )

➡️ Using a pop up tent to store the large bulky items such as car seats and strollers etc

➡️ Packing pods to organise the clothes!!! My absolutely favourite thing ever we have used them for years.

➡️ plastic storage bucket for the outside toys that we take to the beach (and can even double up as a baby/toddler bath

➡️ Foldable items, folding table, folding scooters, folding chairs, the list goes on but helps with space

➡️hamman towels. Absolutely wonderful. We were sent some towels to review a few years back and they are incredible. We haven’t looked back and we are fully converted. They don’t take up much space, dry really quickly, have multiple uses and basically we just love them!

🌈 I have linked my post in my stories - but would love to hear if you have any campervan storage ideas to share or add?

Hope you have all had a lovely weekend whatever you have been up to ?

⭐️What we loved 🌈

Direct access to the most beautiful beach
Family friendly, clean and quiet
Dogs allowed
Eco friendly
Lovely touches - outside shower for wetsuits, infant and toddler washroom with a bath
Pets allowed

We loved staying here for two nights as part of our Scotland road trip with our beautiful friends. Mallaig is the nearest village and we loved visiting Skye and Glenfinnan too. The campsite has direct access to the most spectacular beach - just a walk away along a dedicated path. Definitely one to bookmark and a campsite we would definitely return to.

Happy Sunday!!! So I have decided on a Sunday fo Happy Sunday!!!

My first campsite is @love2stay in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, UK. Set in 22 acres of grounds with touring and Glamping on-site.

Love2stay is a beautiful resort and an absolute gem of a site. We have booked again for this year and have stayed more than once over the last two years.

➡️ swipe for pictures

There is a natural swimming pool, restaurant and pizzeria, fitness suite and thermal bath, assault course, children’s adventure play zone, barefoot trails, mini and junior craft activities, cinedrome for movie nights, yoga and Pilates classes, paddle boarding and kayaking....... the list goes on

What we loved

⭐️So many activities on site for everyone
⭐️restaurant/pizzeria on site
⭐️Swimming pool
⭐️Spa/gym on site
⭐️Dogs allowed (with separate dog walking area and dog agility course )
⭐️Brilliant size serviced pitches
⭐️Glamping available
⭐️Usually Open all year round (covid restriction dependent)

Things to consider

⭐️it gets booked up so book in advance
⭐️No tents allowed
⭐️No on-site grocery shop
⭐️it is the most expensive campsite we have ever stayed when you factor in all the additional activities that do -but it’s a wonderful experience and we absolutely love it here and it is a place that we will keep on returning to.

Please do ask if you have any questions or if you have stayed here too?

I’ll be back next Sunday with another gem !
