David Walliam’s Demon Dentist – Live On Stage is currently on tour at Stoke-on-Trent’s Regent Theatre from Thursday 30 March – Sun 02 April 2023. Here is our Demon Dentist review!
About Demon Dentist Live on Stage
My family are huge fans of the David Walliams books, and I think the girls have read nearly all of his books, including Gangsta Granny, Billionaire Boy and of course Demon Dentist.
His latest book to be adapted for the stage is Demon Dentist, is directed and adapted by Neal Foster of the Birmingham Stage Company, and follows on from the highly successful Gangsta Granny and Billionaire Boy – both nominated for an Oliver Award..
Join Alfie and Gabz to investigate the strange things happening in town! Children are leaving their teeth for the tooth fairy and waking up to find odd things under their pillow! Alfie and his (not ‘girlfriend’) Gabz are determined to get to the bottom of the mystery – but no-one could have dreamed what they’ll discover, when they come face to face with the Demon Dentist herself in this hilarious and thoroughly entertaining family show!
Review: Demon Dentist Live on Stage, Regent Hanley
I was worried that I hadn’t read the book beforehand (although my girls had) however I really didn’t need to worry. The show is entertaining, hilarious and you definitely don’t need to have prior knowledge of the story before watching the show! The show is energetic with lots of funny jokes, songs and brilliant special effects. The lighting, costumes and sets are fantastic and really bring the story to life!
There were plenty of laughs from both the children and the grown ups, with lots of jokes, oh and flatulence sound effects that my son found hilarious! We absolutely loved Raj (Zain Abrahams) the hilarious and fun shop keeper, and of course Miss Root (Emily Harrigan) was incredible as the Demon Dentist – with really impressive vocals!
