Diono Traverze stroller review – 7 reasons why it is a great travel stroller

We have been looking for quite some time for a compact stroller that is not only great for travelling but that stores easily in the campervan. I have to say, with five of us in the campervan, storage is tight and we have to be really clever with what we take with us and how we pack. We attempted a week away in the camper with a carrier, which was great in some ways but we really missed the stroller for those long walks and daytime naps. When Diono asked us to review the Diono Traverze stroller we jumped at the chance. With our pushchair days not quite behind us, I was looking forward to road testing it on our travels to Croatia and during our weekend break in Loch Lomond. Here is our Diono Traverze stroller review

Diono Traverze stroller review – super-compact stroller

Travelling can be a struggle with little ones (yes, that airport juggle is real). We recently travelled to Croatia and with three kids, a stroller, suitcases, three car seats, two trunkies, hand luggage, and a changing bag, I think it is safe to say that we had our hands full. The Traverze stroller is suitable from birth to 3 years, and with its super-compact fold, clever pull along handle, ease of folding and excellent range of colour options it is safe to say it is an excellent stroller to travel, and explore the world with your little one in tow. Here are our 7 reasons why we loved the Diono Traverze stroller.

Lightweight

The first thing I noticed about the Diono Traverze stroller is how incredibly lightweight it is. At less than 12.3lbs/5.6kg it is great for transportation, travel and general day-to-day use. What is important to note is that despite it being lightweight – it is still solid and sturdy and doesn’t feel like it will tip back with added weight.

Super-compact fold

I have had a fair few pushchairs and travel systems over the time and have experienced one or two that have been a nightmare to put up and put down. Not great when you are feeling under pressure in the airport queue ready to board but frantically trying to collapse your pushchair whilst your toddler takes a run for freedom (The voice of experience!).  The Diono Traverse is a super compact stroller that is incredibly easy to fold and to put up. You  can literally do it with one hand and it can be put up or down in seconds, therefore making it perfect for travel and every day use. I also love that the super-compact fold ensures that it is easy to store when not in use.

Flip flop Friendly break

For any of you that know me and my style – you will know that I live in sandals. So to find a stroller with a one-touch break designed for any footwear – well this is epic.

Pull Along Handle

This is a really clever feature of the Diono Traverze Stroller. It has a telescopic handle that pulls out like a suitcase. We decided to check the stroller in at the airport and this feature was wonderful. We were able to pull the folded stroller along like you would a suitcase, and it worked really well at the airport.

5 point Harness

The five point harness is great to keep the children nice and secure. My toddler often wiggles his arms out of straps so as with any stroller, they really need to be tight to stop him doing this. I also like that the straps and pads are removable for washing and cleaning.

Clever Storage

Sometimes with a lightweight and compact stroller you can often forfeit storage, but the Traverze has a really good size basket that expands if needed and closes with magnets when not required. There is also a great pocket with a zip closure on the back of the hood that I found really handy for storing things like purses, keys and a mobile phone.

Accessories

Another little addition that I liked was the Diono Traverze super compact stroller comes with a great water-resistant travel carry cover that zips around the folded pushchair. This came in really handy when we used the telescopic handle and checked our stroller in at the airport as it provided additional protection. It is also extra protection when storing the stroller in the home, car or our camper! In addition, the stroller comes with a tailored rain cover (not with silver products) and although we haven’t had to use the rain cover yet, I was impressed that this is included.

Please note the buggy liner is not included.

Diono Traverze stroller review – our verdict.

We were really impressed with the stroller. It worked really well during both of our trips to Croatia and Scotland. The super compact fold and telescopic handle make travelling with a little one easier. I also love the choices of colours to suit all tastes – we had the yellow sulphur linear colour and I have to say it really stands out!

The seat could possibly be a little deeper, our little man didn’t always ‘look’ comfortable but saying that he really does appear to love the stroller, gets in without protest and sleeps really well in it.

Mr Otis and Us and I have always believed that children should not stop you doing what you love, and we love to travel…explore and see the world. Taking the Diono Traverze stroller with us on our travels definitely makes for effortless travel, and that for us is our ultimate goal.
