Okay… so we cheated slightly. We didn’t actually sleep in the Campervan for this weekend trip to the beach. A cottage with wooden beams.. bunting flags and a woodburner seemed totally inviting for a last minute weekend break. We had been attempting our annual visit to Abersoch for three months, but had to cancel on two occasions due to me becoming poorly during the last few weeks of my pregnancy. So a few weeks ago, and third time lucky we finally made the three hour trip to my little sanctuary.
We packed enough stuff for a three week holiday (babies need a lot of stuff -right?!) and headed off on our trip. We are so lucky the girls travel really well, – and hopefully babyS will too.
We found our little hideaway cottage for the weekend and once we finally found the key (I never read the important emails until two minutes before we arrive and then you find me frantically searching through my inbox with limited 3G on my phone!)
We then dumped our bags and headed off for some food- Thai -always goes down a treat.
I have to say.. it is a lovely time to visit Abersoch. We always say that Abersoch has its own little weather system – The sun still seemed to shine and the wind helped to blow the cobwebs away.
With babyS in a sling, we managed a little walk around the shops.. enjoyed lots of coffee in our favourite coffee shop… and the girls donned their hats scarves and gloves and ran around the beach collecting shells, seaweed in their hair and ALOT of wet sand in their wellies!
Fish and chips… a cheeky purchase of the Wanderlust necklace I have been eyeing up for weeks, and more coffee ended our day perfectly.
I have visited Abersoch for years and it truly is one of my favourite places. There is something about walking on Llanbedrog beach, listening to the waves crash and hearing the shells and pebbles under feet, that I’ll never ever tire of. I have so many fond memories of waking along the beach with my parents, having fish and chips in the local pub and walking back to our caravan to sit outside (whatever the weather), chatting away to my mum with a blanket round my shoulders – while my dad cooked a feast on the BBQ.
We ended the weekend with a stop off at Llangollen so Lil_E could spy the trains, and enjoy yes more coffee and cake before heading home.
*Please note this weekend break was paid for by myself, and I have reviewed the activities and weekend trip with no benefit to myself. *
