I know camping is not for everyone…but we love our time as a family, unplugging from the world and letting the kids spend hours outside enjoying the simple things in life. I understand that not everyone finds being ‘at one’ with nature, ‘whatever the weather’, remotely relaxing or dare I say it enjoyable – so I have to tell you all about our weekend at Love2stay resort.
Love2Stay is a UK holiday park that opened its doors in Summer 2017. The resort is set in around 22 acres of rural Shropshire, with panoramic views of the Shropshire hills and within easy reach of the beautiful medieval market town of Shrewsbury. Love2stay resort has been developed with luxury in mind, to offer a really special caravan and glamping experience. We have had a wonderful year travelling around the UK, and we have been lucky enough to stay at some wonderful family friendly sites in Devon, Dorset, Scotland and York…and Love2Stay has definitely made our list of top family friendly sites to visit.
First Impressions
We arrived at the resort and I knew instantly that our stay was going to be special. The reception area was more like a reception area that you would find in a high end hotel – beautifully designed and the staff were available between 8am-8pm to help to you get the most out of your stay. On arrival they allocated our pitch, and talked us though the fitness classes, activities on offer, and dining options to help to plan our break.
The pitches
There are 122 fully serviced touring pitches on site, and these were an excellent size and noticeably wide. Every caravan or motor home had ample room to spread out and enjoy their own space without encroaching on next door’s pitch. What I really loved was that each pitch had its own fresh water, separate waste disposal point, and a light. Our pitch had wonderful views of the rolling countryside and the park was beautifully maintained, and quiet, with excellent wash facilities – I will come to this next!
Facilities
So most of you reading this wouldn’t put camping and luxury together – right!? The pitches were all within walking distance of the new state of the art facilities building. This is home to fully centrally heated toilet and shower facilities, and hair styling equipment. I have to add that baby and disabled needs are all catered for too. The washroom had white company toiletries on offer, and the facilities were absolutely immaculate. Here there is also a fully equipped laundry and dishwashing facility. If the thought of ‘unplugging’ leaves you cold then there is also free wi-fi available for guests.
The resort is home to an adventure playground, a fitness suite, a sports field, and an assault course.
Walking through the reception area we were greeted with the gorgeous outdoor BioTop natural swimming pool. Basically the pool is free from chemicals and filtered through a reed water garden, so pure water that is natural and in keeping with the resort. Sun loungers and bean bags are dotted around outside to allow you to relax and soak up the atmosphere with a drink or a bite to eat. The kids spent hours in the hot tubs!
Have I sold this camping lark to you yet? 😉
Activities
I think this is where Love2stay really excels. There is so much on offer here. On our first night I had already booked into the health and wellbeing yoga class with the lovely Chrissy for the following morning. There was also weekend classes for the little ones including arts and crafts and cookery that we took advantage of (*all activities payable on booking.)
For those that love to relax, unwind and pamper themselves, there is a spa on site with a good selection of bookable treatments. We frequently visited the cafe for a herbal tea and a flat white, and the wood fired pizza is definitely worth a mention. As you wander through the grounds there are some lovely walks, and there is a small lake where we tried our hand at kayaking and paddle boarding.
One of my favourite things to do was throw fluffy onesies on the kiddies, grab blankets and head over to the huge teepee tent in the evening, which was decorated with twinkling fairy lights, to enjoy their cinema night. Here we lazed the evening away, watching B.F.G with pop corn and a drink or two (ok.. maybe not all of us – our crawling climbing adventurous one year old had other ideas and liked to escape from the teepee at any given opportunity!) anyhow…. we loved it!
Glamping
For those of you that need a little more luxury, the resort has a number of family glamping lodges that sleep up to six. The yurts have a king size bed with a luxury Hypnos mattress, further single beds, a secret cabin bunk, a roll-top bath, fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and belfast sink, and under floor heating. This style of glamping gives the opportunity to enjoy outdoor life whilst keep those little luxuries close to you heart.
So for a family that rarely visits the same place more than once, we hand on heart loved this resort. We have already visited twice, and I am still dreaming of trying out those luxury glamping lodges…..maybe another visit is necessary…in the name of research and all 🙂

This looks like a wonderful glamping trip. Loved your comment “I found my love for yoga again last weekend. A little bit of me time, and yoga with a view ” I had that feeling when I got back on the mat after my little one was born. #explorerkids
I think this is the future of campsites. I love to camp, but I hate grunging around in the usual facilities. Having the option to sleep outdoors, but with decent showers and some comforts to resort to would definitely make me choose one site over another. Brilliant find!
Oh Wow! I love this place! It is actually giving chills – in a good way of course. It looks so beautiful and perfect with the state of the art luxury facilities. I want in!! Thanks for review. I wonder of you are allow to swim in the BioTop natural swimming pool?? Hmmm… – not that I will of course. 😉 Thanks for linking up with us on #ExplorerKids xx

I’ve never seen a campsite this nice! My kids would love the playground. We are determined to go camping next year. Perhaps this should be our first trip. It might be too much like glamping for my husband!
Wow! That is one of the most amazing sites I’ve ever seen-they’ve thought of everything. There are times I crave the simple things, but a bit of luxury (even if you are camping!) makes a nice change. Such a lovely part of the world too, will have to check it out next year. Love you photos too! Thanks for sharing with us #AdventureCalling
We’ve just got back from a break in the Shropshire hills ourselves. This places looks great. A good blend of excellent modern facilities while still managing to retain the natural beauty of the area. Thanks for joining us on #adventurecalling I hope you can again tomorrow.
