REVIEW: Ghost The Musical at the Regent Theatre, Hanley

Ghost…a 1990 iconic film that shares a heartbreaking story of a young couple torn apart by tragedy. I have lost count of how many times I have watched this film. It is one of my all time favourite movies. I mean…  Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg…. they are HUGE shoes to fill, and I quietly wondered if the cast could really pull off a stage version of this iconic film.

I really don’t want to give away too much but I have to, as genuinely you really need to grab your tickets to see Ghost the Musical. It is one of the best musicals I have seen. The cast are phenomenal.

Ghost: The Musical is live at the Regent from Tuesday 12th November – Saturday 16th November 2024.

Ghost The Musical Review

Ghost the musical is a supernatural romance that shares the story of a young couple who are madly in love, and one evening lives are changed forever. Walking back to their apartment late one night, a tragic encounter sees Sam (Josh St. Clair) murdered and his beloved girlfriend Molly (Rebekah Lowings) alone, in despair and utterly lost. But with the help of a phony storefront psychic Oda Mae Brown (Jacqui Dubois), Sam, trapped between this world and the next, tries to communicate with Molly in the hope of saving her from grave danger…

Seeing the Legendary Les Dennis play both the roles of Hospital Ghost and Lionel Ferguson was a real treat, showing that he is an exceptional performer with character, and charm.

Josh St. Clair, Rebekah Lowings and James Mateo-Salt have the most incredible vocals and stage presence throughout the performance. a perfecting casting.

Jacqui Dubois was absolutely incredible and played the role of Oda Mae Brown wonderfully. I mean… she has huge shoes to fill if you have seen the film but wow… Her vocals and on stage performance was honestly outstanding.
