Green People Sun Cream: REVIEW

Green People Sun Cream: REVIEW

We love to travel the UK and beyond, mostly in our campervan although occasionally you will find us enjoying a little bit of luxury on a self catering villa holiday. Wherever and however we travel, one thing is for certain, we always pack our suncream and aftersun. We are always on the look out for handy products that work for our travels, particularly as we are a family of five and space is tight in a VW campervan. So when Green People asked us if we would like to review their suncream products, including their newly launched suncream with natural insect repellant, we were keen to try them out. Here is our Green People Sun Cream review.

  • Scent Free Sun Cream SPF30 200ml
  • Sun Cream with Natural Insect Repellent SPF15 100ml
  • Scent Free Mineral Sun Cream SPF30 50ml
  • After Sun with Natural Insect Repellent 100ml

Our thoughts on the suncream products that we have tried.

We have just returned from a family trip to Cornwall, followed by a trip to France. May half term is coming up and we love to get out and about in our campervan. Last year we headed to the Outer Hebrides in Scotland in our campervan, and we know that midges can be a problem during the Summer months in Scotland. If there is a midge or a mosquito to be found, I can guarantee it will head in my direction.

We hope we rarely have to use After Sun products for sunburn, the hope is with frequent application of suncream we don’t get burnt. But we love the aftersun products for soothing skin that has been exposed to sun, heat, and water. I love that the aftersun has a natural insect repellent built in. Perfect for the evenings when the mosquitos tend to make an appearance, and like I said, always head in my direction.

Green People SPF15 Sun Cream with Natural Insect Repellent

With the idea to protect, soothe and repel, Green People have launched an organic suncream range loved by sensitive skin and hated by the pesky mosquitoes.

This is a fantastic idea for gardeners, campers and people who love to adventure outdoors, the suncream contains DEET-free Citrepel®75 (derived from Java Citronella) to naturally repel biting insects for up to 4 hours.

On applying the suncream it is a white suncream that we found it to be non-greasy, and easy to apply. The cream contains aloe vera, lemon eucalyptus and peppermint and has a fresh smell and there is a slight mosquito repellant scent after application that doesn’t bother me at all as you know it will provide protection from the pesky mosquitoes.

Green People Sun Cream review

Certified Organic Green People Scent Free Mineral Sun Cream SPF30

This is a handy facial suncream, it comes in a handy 50 ml tube that fits easy into my bum bag that I use when we are out and about exploring. It is clinically proven to be kind to sensitive skin.

The suncream contains zinc oxide to give high, broad- spectrum UVA/UVB protection +97% of skin-burning UVB rays. Aloe Vera & Argan Oil offers a skin barrier.

On application it takes a short while to absorb into the skin, it is scent free and on application I agree – it doesn’t really carry a scent.

It is non-greasy and our skin felt soft. I rarely choose suncream above factor 30 as I prefer to frequently apply the suncream throughout the day to ensure maximum protection, particularly when the children are in and out of the swimming pool or the sea.

Green People Organic children suncream SPF 30

With SPF30 sun filters, this high factor kids’ sun cream boasts broad-spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays. It has also won Best Sunscreen at the 2023 Organic and Sustainable Baby Awards.

The suncream is scent free, and easy to apply, and great for sensitive skin. It is also kind to prickly heat, and for someone that regularly experiences prickly heat – this is music to my ears. It is safe to use on all ages including babies, toddlers, juniors, pre teens, and I also used this when we were out and about too.

It is easy to apply and non greasy. There is a faint smell of marzipan which is nice. I love that it is ocean friendly. Green People really have thought of everything with their sugar cane plastic tube. Sugar cane plastic is a bio-based plastic that is created using renewable plant-based materials, is just as recyclable, and considered eco-friendlier packaging choice.

Cruelty free products

Green People has been certified as a cruelty-free brand by PETA certifying that they never test any product or ingredient on animals.
