REVIEW: Madagascar The Musical at The Regent Theatre

REVIEW: Madagascar The Musical at The Regent Theatre

We were really looking forward to watching Madagascar the musical, based on the familiar 2005 animation. The Regent Theatre was full, with lots of young and excited faces ready to see Alex the lion on stage. We have loved watching Madagascar over the years, and had high hopes for Madagascar the Musical – Live at the Regent.

Madagascar the Musical REVIEW

Alex the lion is the king of the jungle and the main attraction at New York’s Central Park Zoo. Alex has some amazing best friends – Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo and they have spent their whole lives in captivity. On his 10th birthday, Marty the zebra decides he is a little bored, and not content with his glorious life in the zoo he lets his curiosity get the better of him. With the help of some penguins he makes his BIG escape in the hope to see a little bit more of the world. But will his friends join him?

Madagascar the Musical – Final Thoughts

Madagascar the musical is a great family show and was definitely a huge hit with the younger children in the audience – our son absolutely loved it.

The songs were catchy, voices outstanding and choreography brilliant. For me, Alex the lion and Gloria the hippo stole the show, with beautiful vocals and wonderful stage presence.

Madagascar the musical is a story of unlikely friendships, loyalty, and escaping the ordinary. With vibrant costumes, great vocals and brilliant dance routines… you’ll have no choice but to “Move It, Move It!”

Tickets available now – but if the opening night is anything to go by – they will sell out fast…. get your tickets for Madagascar live at the Regent here.
