Set on the banks of Lac du January you will find Le Pin Parasol and gorgeous parc situated in the heart of the Vendée. We stayed here a few years back for a short stop over in our campervan as part of our Summer road trip, and loved this parc so much we just had to return. Here is our Eurocamp Le Pin Parasol review

Eurocamp Vendee
The Vendée is situated in the West of France and is a popular region because of its wild coasts and endless miles of fine sand beaches. The Vendée has some incredible beaches (we love Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie and Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez) but is also home to Le Puy du Fou, voted the best amusement park in the world. Le Puy du Fou is a great place to visit with kids, transporting you back in time, with incredible shows, dining experiences and the biggest night show in the world, the Cinéscénie.
Camping in the Vendée offers the perfect opportunity to explore everything that Vendée has to offer, with picturesque villages, stunning seaside resorts, and amazing outdoor family friendly attractions.
We absolutely love Eurocamp holidays, and have stayed at some of the BEST Eurocamp parcs in France, (and did you know that some of the Eurocamp Parcs in France are dog friendly too?).
Eurocamp offers parcs in some wonderful locations throughout Europe, including Eurocamp in Croatia and Eurocamp in Italy.
There are so many parcs to choose from, with Eurocamp parcs along the coast, in the City, and stunning lakeside parcs. There are options to suit all needs and requirements. Eurocamp holidays are a great option for family holidays, and there is something for children of all ages, with impressive collections of parcs with pools, kids’ activities and kids’ clubs. There is also plenty on offer for parents and grandparents too, with parcs offering a chance to disconnect, relax and unwind ( and maybe hit the spa!)
Eurocamp Le Pin Parasol Review
As I mentioned earlier, we have camped at Le Pin Parasol a few years back in our converted VW, and absolutely loved everything about this parc. So this time we knew exactly what to expect and in all honesty couldn’t wait to return this year.
Le Pin Parasol is an incredible 5 stay parc in the Vendée. The parc is situated just 50 metres from the beautiful Lac du Jaunay and just over 15 minutes from the Vendée beaches. The parc is split across to different sites with the Sensations side offering a family friendly and lively vibe, and the Nature and Sens area offering a peaceful and tranquil vibe with a spa, gym and wellness area.
Le pin parasol has two heated water parks, with water slides, swimming pools, a swimming lane, paddling pools, a gently sloping pool, and jacuzzi, there is something for everyone. In addition there is a wellness area with a spa and gym, lakeside access, football and volleyball pitches, restaurants, snack bar, takeaway service and outdoor play areas.
Calais to Vendee
We took the P&O ferry from Dover to Calais and the service from start to finish was great. Check in was smooth with minimal waiting times (even in the Summer holidays) and we were early enough to be booked onto the earlier ferry crossing from Dover to Calais which was amazing. Our crossing was smooth and disembarkation was also pretty quick – within 30 minutes we were on our way.
The journey from Calais to Vendee is about 6 and a half hours depending on the time of day you are travelling. We opted to split our journey up with a few nights staying at Camping Château de Chanteloup, in the Loire before heading on to the Vendée.
Eurocamp accommodation – Le Pin Parasol
Check in was extremely smooth and quick. On arrival we were shown to the Eurocamp cabin on site and greeted with a friendly face and given our keys to our Eurocamp accommodation . We checked in about 6.30pm in the evening and everything was ready for us on arrival.
Our Eurocamp 3 bedroom premium holiday home was clean, spacious and absolutely immaculate on arrival.
The 3 bedroom holiday home has a lounge decking area with an outdoor table and outdoor seating area. Premium models are equipped with a Nespresso Machine, Premium mattress and the kitchen is also equipped with a dishwasher.
The holiday home is fully equipped with plates, bowls, cutlery, mugs and glasses etc. We were provided with a Eurocamp welcome pack that can be pre booked and waiting in your accommodation on arrival and this had a few lovely essentials including tea, coffee, wine, cooking oil, jam, water bottles etc.
If you are wondering what to pack for a Eurocamp holiday, The holiday home is fully furnished and we stopped off at the supermarket before we arrived to grab food and additional things such as toilet rolls, washing up liquid and sponges etc.
Bed linen and towels were included for our stay in a Eurocamp Premium holiday home.
A Eurocamp holiday with kids
Eurocamp holidays are incredible for families and I am really not just saying that. There is something for children of all ages from swimming pools, water parks, kids’ clubs, sports clubs, adventure parks, cycle hire, and so much more.
Le Pin Parasol has loads to keep families entertained on site. There is a huge choice of pools across both The Sensations and Nature and Sens area. The Sensations side is a little more lively with the kids club and water parc with slides, and the sensations side has a stunning swimming pool, toddler splash area, wellness area and great outdoor adventure park.
There are plenty of activities here including tennis, football, volleyball, archery, boules, table tennis and basketball. There is so much to do in the parc, you really don’t have to venture out at all but if you did want to explore the local area, there are some incredible beaches and lakes nearby
The kids loved the free transport buggy that travelled regularly between the two sites (I just wanted to add that it is no time at all to walk from Sensations to Nature and Sens area – but the kids loved taking the buggy). We also loved walking to the shop every morning for the bakery run, baguettes and croissants every day are always a winner.
We didn’t attend the kids club during our stay but the children did take part in some of the activities including a water ping pong competition and a volleyball match on the volleyball courts. The kids’ disco nights always looked popular too.
Eurocamp Le Pin Parasol Facilities
We spent quite a bit of our week enjoying Le Pin Parasol and taking the time to relax, unwind and spend time together. We did visit Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie on a couple of occasions (I can highly recommend Les Cabins for amazing crepes!), we also visited Lac d’Apremont, Le Grand Défi , and Pointe de Grosse Terre lighthouse in St Hilaire de Riez. Read here for more ideas for things to do near Le Pin Parasol.

Le Pin Parasol review: final thoughts
We absolutely love Le Pin Parasol in the Vendée region. The family friendly parc is amazing and there is a vibe for all here as the parc has two distinct areas (Sensations and Nature and Sens). The parc is beautifully maintained and our holiday was absolutely immaculate on arrival. The pool areas are spectacular and I loved that the parc had lakeside access to Lac January too. We couldn’t have asked for more and had an absolutely amazing Eurocamp holiday. Would we return to Le Pin parasol? This was already our second stay here and we would hand on heart return to this beautiful parc with Eurocamp holidays again.
