Beautiful beaches near to Stoke on Trent

We love to travel to North Wales and have regular visited the Llyn Peninsula over the years, often camping or glamping. There are so many great family days out in North Wales too and not to mention incredible beaches, quaint villages and historic castles. Don’t forget the Wirral is just a short drive with 50 miles of coastline and beaches, rural walks and cycling routes.
So what are you waiting for? Grab a picnic mat, and your picnic and head to one of these beautiful beaches not far from Stoke on Trent.
1. Llandudno Beach, Conwy
We are frequent visitors to North Wales and I lwill forever ove the beaches that North Wales has to offer. Every year we visit Llandudno and always visit West Shore beach – our favourite beach in Llandudno.
West Shore beach is much quieter than the North Shore beach, and you can still walk into Llandudno shops from here. It is a sandy beach and well known for its stunning sunsets.
There is parking alongside the beach and toilet facilities too.
Dog friendly? Dogs are not allowed on the main section of beach between the two stone groynes from 1st May to 30th September.

Parking is available along the promenade and it is pay and display.
Dog friendly? Dogs have restricted access to the beach – although some parts are dog friendly.
The Welsh Mountain zoo is also nearby for a great day out.

Talacre beach is a popular beach with miles of golden sand backed by dunes and the Point of Ayr lighthouse which dates back to 1776. During the winter you will feel like you have this beach all to yourself, although it can be a little busier in the Summer with nearby holiday parks and North Wales campsites.
We recently visited on our drive home after a recent weekend in North Wales staying in Abergele and visiting Greenwood Family park.
