Having visited North Wales since I was a toddler myself, I may be a little biased but North Wales is an amazing place to visit all year round. With incredible beaches, ancient quarries, quaint villages and historic castles there is plenty to see and do whatever the weather. 1. GreenWood Family Park

GreenWood Family park is an incredible outdoor adventure parc that has been voted the best family attraction in North Wales. Suitable for kids of all ages, you will find soft play, the world’s only people powered coaster and a solar-powered splash ride, lazy river rides plus plenty more!

2. The Welsh Mountain Zoo

The Welsh Mountain Zoo overlooks the Colwyn Bay coastline in North Wales and is the oldest and most established Zoo in Wales. The Zoo occupies aprox 37 acres of lush green landscape and houses around 80 species including including tigers, lemurs, brown bears and alligators! It is a lovely visit with kids of all ages, everyone will love the otters and the penguins!

3. Bounce Below, Llechwedd

We visited Bounce Below during our stay at Plas Weunydd hotel. What a brilliant time for both adults and children!
Bounce Below is a unique experience. Hidden in this disused mine, you will find 6 trampoline-style nets built into a huge area. So pop on your safety helmet and enter the biggest playground to bounce, jump, slide and climb away! Absolutely hilarious and so much fun.
Make sure you wear suitable clothing, long sleeves are recommended and no shorts, and wear suitable footwear too.

4. Manorafon Family Park
Manorafon Family Park is situated in Abergele, Conwy. Here you will find plenty of animals including lambs, rabbits, pigs and chicks. There is also an indoor play barn, off-road pedal go-karts, outdoor play areas, and a programme of activities. There is also an ice cream hut, and The Greedy Goat offering delicious snacks and meals .

5. Llandudno
There is so much to see and do in Llandudno and if we head over to North Wales, the kids ALWAYS ask to visit. We love to visit West Shore beach, and there is a play park and parking right along the beachfront. Llandudno town has a few great shops, restaurants and coffee shops. One of our favourite places to stop and enjoy an ice cream is The Looking Glass Ice cream Parlour. The Looking Glass Ice Cream Parlour is perfect if you love Alice in Wonderland, and the ice cream is homemade and amazing!
6. Harlech Castle
We visited Harlech castle during our stay at Nantcol Waterfalls Campsite. Harlech is a gorgeous seaside town that offers award winning beaches, interesting independent shops and Harlech castle.

7. Ffestiniog Railway

The Ffestiniog Railway is the world’s oldest narrow gauge railway and has almost 200 years of history. We stayed at the glamping lodges in Llechwedd and visited Ffestiniog Railway during our stay. You can enjoy a beautiful journey through forests, mountains, lakes and waterfalls from the comfort of the train. The train runs between Porthmadog’s harbourside and the former slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog.

8. Zipworld
Head to Zip world and you can stay either at Llechwedd glamping lodges or the gorgeous Plas Weunydd boutique hotel.
There are so many amazing adventures to be had here. We have already mentioned Bounce Below but there are so many things to do here for all ages. You can choose from underground golf, titan, Caverns, Llechwedd Quarry tour, and deep mine tour.

9. Bodnant Garden – National Trust
Bodnant Garden is a world-famous garden, in Tal-y-Cafn, near Colwyn Bay, Conwy, LL28 5RE. With year-round colour, the garden can be whatever you want it to be, whether that’s a hive of activity or a haven of tranquility and relaxation, this is truly a special place for all ages. Dogs are welcome too!

10. Gwrych Castle
We love to visit Gwrych Castle particularly in Autumn as they run awesome halloween events!
Gwrych Castle is gothic ruin in Abergele, in North Wales. You may have heard about Gwrych Castle as it was the filming location for I’m a Celebrity….Get me out of Here!
There are plenty of great events in the school holidays including medieval madness, princesses at the castle and more.

11. Llanbedrog Beach
A place we have visited for years and one of my favourite beaches on the Llyn Peninsula and one of our favourite family days out in North Wales. We love it here.
We recently stayed at Crugan Farm campsite and listed it in my top campsites in North Wales post here.
Llanbedrog is a village on the Llŷn Peninsula of Gwynedd and it is situated between Abersoch and Pwllheli. This beach is perfect for collecting shells and stones, and there is a lovely cafe and parking and my favourite beautiful coloured beach huts. Parking is free for NT members
12. Llyn Padarn & Padarn Country Park
Llyn Padarn & Padarn Country Park is situated in Llanberis, Caernarfon, Gwynedd, LL55 4TY. Llyn Padarn is a magnificent glacially formed lake nestled amidst some of Snowdonia’s most spectacular scenery. You can paddleboard or take a swim in the beautiful clear lake.
There are plenty of sports on offer including rock climbing, orienteering, scuba diving, rowing, canoeing and sailing. There is also the Llanberis Lake Railway, and a play ground too.
There is ample parking, payable on arrival.
13. Abersoch
Abersoch is a small seaside village on th Llyn Peninsula and offers stunning sandy beaches, fantastic independent shops and restaurants and an abundance of watersports. We love a breakfast at Zinc cafe bar, a bite to eat and a drink at the Vaynol, or a pizza at Crust Pizzeria.
